The Idiot in Charge
Dylan Gonzalez hails from New Jersey. He spent his youth fending off solicitations from Danzig and the Aqua Teen Hunger Force while consuming a steady diet of pork roll and Japanese giant monster movies (and later weed).
He discovered his real calling to heavy music while in college, where he was involved in Manhattanville's radio station, 88.1 FM The Pulse, as a DJ and loud rock music director. He definitely drank in the station when he wasn't supposed to.
Since then, Dylan has worked in and around the alcohol industry as well as in digital media, all the while finding ways to get out of work early to catch a show. He started Diary of Doom in June 2019 as an Instagram page to share concert photos. Before long, he launched a podcast in an effort to better understand the underground heavy metal scene up close and personal.
Besides doom metal, Dylan also has an affinity for bad horror movies, comic books, mahjong, beer, and an unhealthy interest in the dark spawn of the Internet. He is based out of Brooklyn and, in real life, wears giant hipster glasses.
